British School Muscat
Oman
The British School Muscat has expanded dramatically over the past few years and now has over 1200 pupils covering the ages of 3 up to 18. We have almost 50 nationalities represented within our school with the biggest percentage being British at around 40%.
BSM has been a keen entrant in the BSME Games since the Primary Games were first held in 2003. As well as the U11 Games we have also participated in, and hosted, the U13 Games and participated in the U15 BSME Games. Initially BSM competed as a ‘small’ school but, as the school has grown, we now enjoy the highly competitive tournaments in the ‘large’ school games.
Every year the BSME Games is a tremendous event to be involved in and I sure that this year’s event will build on the successes of previous events and help to take the experience for the children to a even higher level. We are bringing 24 children and 4 teachers and our students all take part in at least 2 events. Our goal is as much for the children to have an experience they will remember for the rest of their lives, meeting students from our schools and forming new friendships as it is to worry too much about the winning of the event - although that would be nice.
Like all teams, our children have trained hard to ensure they can give their best at these games. I genuinely wish the very best for all the schools taking part over the weekend.
Good Luck to all participating schools from the teachers and children at BSM.
